Jism 2 posters pulled down in MumbaiThe upcoming film Jism 2 that stars Sunny Leone, Randeep Hooda and Arunoday Singh seems to have become too hot to handle for the BMC. In fact the posters of the film have been considered "too hot to handle" by Mumbai's civic authorities with the Mayor Sunil Prabhu ordering their removal from BEST buses.
This new dictate follows a complaint lodged by NCP legislator Vidya Chavan that the posters were obscene. However, the makers of the film claim otherwise stating that contrary to the complaints of the film being vulgar, it is in fact conservative and traditional, as the story of Jism 2 is about a journey of a porn star, and her longing for real love.
Talking about this issue, Mahesh Bhatt says, "Spiting off visuals emanating out of the human imagination has been the norm since medieval times. In recent times, I remember Karan Johar's film Kurbaan's posters were pulled down by the moral police. Only faces of politicians change, their thoughts never do.
An ordinary citizen's freedom has often fallen prey to the political class claiming that is good for the society. And now we will gracefully agree to their demands and replace these posters with new non controversial ones!"
Meera Jasmine about her marriage and live-in relationshipAt an event to launch Mandolin Rajesh's new album "Following my Heart", actress Meera Jasmine was also spotted. Naturally she was asked about her rumoured marriage to Rajesh in Tirupati. She denied any such marriage but said she is extremely fond of Rajesh. But, the couple still isn’t certain about when they would get married. They also denied rumors that they are living together.
Kamal Haasan launched the album earlier. In this event, Kamal Haasan was given a new name 'Ulagachakravarthy', by Rajesh. Till now Kamal has been hailed as the 'Ulaganayagan'.
Suryah wants Shankar and Venkat Prabhu
SJ Suryah is busy with his romantic-musical Isai. He had earlier disclosed that he is planning to rope in four top directors to do cameos in the film. He has already shot a sequence with director Vishnuvardhan.
Now we hear that he is trying to get Shankar, Venkat Prabhu and Lingusamy for Isai. Suryah did a guest appearance in Nanban for Shankar. It is expected that Shankar might give a nod as a sign of friendship.
Meanwhile SJ Suryah and cinematographer Sounderrajan are in a forest in Karnataka, hunting for enchanting locations.

Trisha is busy as ever with projects like Samar, Boologam and Endrendrum Punnagai. Trisha has tweeted that she is going to hit the gym with a vengeance after a break, and get a washboard tummy that is the current trend among hotshot Bollywood actresses.
She has set a target to lose 2 kilos in the next month. The already slim Trisha is just going to become hotter.
Taapsee’s Ladakh adventure
The Vandaan Vendraan actress has been enjoying her shooting stint at Ladakh.The actress is having a whale of a time traveling to different parts of our country and abroad. She recently went to Ladakh to shoot for Chandrasekhar Yeleti’s upcoming movie starring Gopichand in the lead role. As soon as she landed the actress realized that the altitude would affect their breathing due to the low oxygen levels. The crew was shooting under difficult conditions and had to adjust quickly to the terrain also.
She took to her social networking page to post that she was having a great time at Ladakh. Apparently, the actress shot for a Buzkashi sequence that had plenty of horses. It seems she’s the bait rather than the goats for these horses. The sequence was said to be a risky one and the actress was a little worried about getting injured. In the end, she had a great time and loved her little adventure.
From Ladakh, the actress went home to Delhi for a short break to spend time with her family. Looks like the Punjabi girl’s courage is coming all out in her films as well!
Nayan’s flick sold for record Rs 6 crore on TV!
The actress has just made a comeback and all her films are making headlines. The latest news is from Tollywood where Nayanthara is doing a movie titled Love Story with Nagarjuna.Apparently, the television rights for this film have been sold for a record amount of Rs 6 crore. If this is true, then it’s one of the films which have fetched a huge amount for satellite rights. It’s believed that Zee Telugu has bought the flick though Nagarajuna is a stakeholder in MAA tv.
This movie will be Nayan’s comeback film along with Krishnam Vande Jagadguru in Telugu.
In Love Story, Nagarjuna plays a suave NRI who romances Nayanthara. The movie is already on floors and expectations are high from this flick. Nag has a new look in this film. The movie is being directed by Dasarath who directed Mr Perfect and produced by Chandan Reddy. Chennai-based music director Thaman has scored the music for this flick.
Interestingly, Meera Chopra ( Nila) who has taken a very long break from south films is playing an important role in this flick. The actress was recently in Chennai to attend a fashion event.
Super bod for Trisha
The Internet has been flooded with reports about Trisha hitting the gym vigorously to sport a sexy bod. The Samar actress is indeed working towards being in ship-shape.However, contrary to rumours that Trisha is following this regimen for a role, the actress says that this is just her way of getting back to the fitness grind.
“I am indeed following a strict diet and fitness schedule. However, I am not doing this for any particular movie. I have been a little slack with workouts so I decided to get myself a personal trainer. This way I am motivated to push myself to workout everyday,” she explains.
On reports about her walking out of a Priyadarshan film, she says, “That’s just a rumour.” The actress, who is working on Samar, Boologam and Endrendrum Punnagai, says, “Despite my busy shooting schedule, I have made sure that I find time to travel with my family and friends, and also bond with my dog,” she signs off. That’s one more bikini bod to look forward to in Kollywood!
Ananya married?
Ananya married?: Ananya's father Gopalakrishnan has said his daughter had left the home in the last week of April. "I came to know from others that she entered wedlock with Anjaneyan in Tirupati," said Gopalakrishnan.
The 'Nadodigal' and 'Engeyum Eppodhum' actress was engaged to Anjaneyan some months ago. However, immediately after the betrothal, her father filed a police complaint that Anjaneyan was already married and he hid the truth. But Gopalakrishnan had to withdraw the complaint, following 'pressure from Ananya'.
And now, Gopalakrishnan has said in an interview, "We are worried a lot that Ananya had left us. I came to know that she is currently living in a flat at Ernakulam. I tried my best to stop her marriage with Anjaneyan, but could not."
Stating that he did not know before the engagement that Anjaneyan was already married, Gopalakrishnan said, "We are not against Ananya's wish. All that we wanted was that she should lead a happy and hassle free life."
Shruti has no time for Allu Arjun
Shruti Haasan, who is currently set to begin work on a Hindi film directed by Prabhu Dheva, has had to reject a few offers because of her packed schedule. This includes a Puri Jagannadh film with Allu Arjun in the lead.“I couldn’t accept the film as I didn’t have dates,” says Shruti, when quizzed. The film is slated to go on floors in next month. While Shruti is sad that she has missed the opportunity to work with the team, she says, “I’m also happy that I’m busy with work.”
Coincidentally, this isn’t the first time that a Shruti-Allu Arjun film didn’t take off. Earlier this year, around February, there were reports of the pair teaming up for a film that was to be directed by Selvaraghavan. But, due to everyone being busy with their respective projects at that period, the project just remained in the speculations stage.
Shruti, currently, is doing her first comic role opposite Ravi Teja in Tollywood apart from her Hindi film. The actress has recently said that she is in discussions with Tamil makers, but there hasn’t been any formal announcement from her side yet.
7 nominations for A R Rahman
A.R. Rahman has been nominated for a total of 7 awards 3rd Chevrolet Global Indian Music Academy (GIMA) Awards for his exceptional work in the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Rockstar.These include Best Music Arranger and Programmer, Best Background Score, 2 nominations for Best Playback Singer Male along with Javed Ali and Mohit Chauhan, Best Music Director, Best Film Song and Best Film Album.
2012 saw a great year with a lot of successful films featuring great soundtracks. Amongst the major films released in the previous year, those leading the nominations in the film category are Rockstar with a total of 11 nominations followed closely by Ra.One and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara with a total of 8 nominations each, while Agneepath has received 5 nominations. Other notable films that have been nominated for various award categories are Delhi Belly, Don 2 and Desi Boyz.
Newcomer Kamal Khan has also been nominated in the Best Debut category for the song Ishq Sufiana which gained massive popularity on the radio. International artiste Akon and our very own Mika have also been nominated in the Best Playback Singer category for Chammak Challo and Subah Hone Na De.
The jury members for the film music category include Jatin Pandit, Javed Akhtar, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Kunal Kohli, Nagesh Kukunoor, Prasoon Joshi, Rajiv Kenkre, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Rajesh Roshan, Ramesh Sippy, Resul Pookutty, Shamir Tandon and Udit Narayan.
Katrina visits Ajmer Dargah with Ali Abbas ZafarOnly recently, we had recently reported about how the head of the divine Ajmer Sharif Dargah had shown his displeasure at the film folks coming there to pray for their movie's success and leaving CDs behind. This resulted in him issuing a statement that demanded restrictions on filmstars visiting the shrine to promote their films.
Despite all this, yesterday, Katrina Kaif (clad in black salwar kameez and a dupatta) alongwith Ali Abbas Zafar (director of Mere Brother Ki Dulhan) reached the dargah around 6.30 am. Talking about her visit, Qutubuddin Sakhi ('Khadim' of the Dargah) said that since it is the holy month of Ramzan, Katrina preferred visiting the shrine in the wee hours of the morning, in order to avoid the chaos. He also added that she was here for half an hour and had also untied a mannat ka dhaga (wish thread) that she had tied when she last visited the Dargah.
Heroine for Vimal and Sivakarthikeyan
Some time back, National Award winning director, Pandiraj announced his next project – Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga with Vimal and Sivakarthikeyan in the lead roles. Bindhu Madhavi was roped in to play one of the female leads following her impressive showing in Kazhugu.The hunt for the second female lead has been completed. Regina Cassandra seen in the Telugu remake of Siva Manasula Sakthi or SMS has been finalized. She is also popular in Kannada cinema. This will be Regina’s debut film in Tamil and she is excited to be a part of this promising project.
Prabhu Dheva's next goes on floorThe mahurat shot of the debut film of Girish Taurani (son of veteran producer Kumar Taurani) took place yesterday in Mumbai. The as yet untitled film is a musical love story directed by Prabhu Dheva and has Shruti Haasan paired opposite Girish.
Speaking about the emotional moment, proud papa Kumar Taurani said, "Yes, we had the mahurat shot of Girish's film yesterday in Mumbai. We will now be shooting a song in Mumbai and then will be travelling to Himachal Pradesh for a schedule."
Commenting on the cast of the film, Kumar Taurani said, "Besides Girish and Shruti, there are a host of supporting actors including big names like Randhir Kapoor, Vinod Khanna, Poonam Dhillon, Satish Shah, Govind Namdeo, Zakir and Nassar. We are also introducing 2 new girls- Aanchal Singh and Pankhuri Awasthi. The music of the film is composed by Sachin-Jigar and lyrics have been written by Irshad Kamil. Noted cinematographer Kiran Deohans is the D.O.P."

SALMAN LOCKS SHER KHAN FOR 2013Even before Salman Khan's mandatory Eid release for 2012 is out, his Eid 2013 project has just been finalized.
Salman wants his brother Sohail Khan's Sher Khan to be his Eid 2013 release. And Sohail who had no clue about Salman's plans (probably because Salman himself doesn't know what he is planning) is thrown into a frenzy to finish pre-production and start shooting to make it into the Eid deadline.
Says a source close to the project, "With Dabangg 2locked for release in Aamir Khan's Christmas slot, the question of which film would make it into Salman's Eid 2013 slot was being seriously discussed. Since it was a relatively simpler film to make, Sajid Nadiadwala's Kick was expected to be ready before Sher Khan which is going to be Salman's most complicated film in terms of technique. Sohail needed a full year at least to shoot the film and then at least another 3 months for post-production as the film requires extensive special effects. Now to meet the Eid deadline he must complete the entire film, post-production included, in 10 months. But Bhai is keen to bring Sher Khan for next Eid. It's his gift to his kid fans. And as of now he won't be doing any other film after Dabangg 2, except Sher Khan."
Sohail who has gone into the fast-forward mode said, "Eid 2013 is really cutting it close. But I am definitely going to make an effort to make it for Eid next year. I hope to finish the final draft of the script by August and then quickly assemble the cast and crew. Inshallah, we roll in November and release for Eid."
EROS acquired MAATRAN for 84 CRORESThere will be a great reception for the songs of the film that has Surya and music composer Harris Jayaraj combination.K V Anand is joining hands with Surya in Maatraan after Ayan. Maatran is being produced by Kalpathy S Agoram.
Right from the beginning there was stiff competition among the distributors to acquire its rights. Now there is news that Eros International has acquired all the rights of this film for a whooping price of Rs 84 Crores.
Bellamkonda Suresh has acquired the Telugu rights for Rs 17 Crores. Sony is going to acquire the audio rights for Rs 12 Crores. This is the highly paid price for the audio as far as Tamil film industry is concerned.The songs of Ayan which had the combination of Surya, K V Anand and Harris Jayaraj were great hits and because of this there are great expectations for the songs of Maatraan.
It has been decided to release the audio CD of this film on 9th August in Singapore. 9th August is supposed to be the National Day of Singapore. It will be a government holiday. It has been decided to hold this function in a grand manner.
BILLA-2 BETTERs NANBANBilla 2 has wowed Malaysian audiences and has collected the highest amount for a Tamil film released in 2012 so far. It has bettered other big films like Nanban and 3. According to an authentic box-office portal, till date, Billa 2′s collections stand at a very healthy $906,298 which is more than 5 crores in Indian rupees. Nanban collected around 4.86 crores in Malaysia.
Ajith’s opening and star power have done the trick yet again. Malaysia also continues to be a huge overseas market for Tamil films. Overall at the Malaysian box-office this year, Billa 2 stands at No.30 in the roll of honour with Hollywood blockbusters like The Avengers and The Amazing Spiderman leading the way.

What's Nayanthara up to?
Nayanthara is gearing up for her second innings in the Tamil industry. After shooting continuously for the past 2 months, she has now taken off for a break to spend time with her family.
She is a doting aunt to her little nieces and loves spending time with her cousins. On the film front, she is busy with the Ajith-Vishnuvardhan project as well an untitled project with Arya, directed by Shankar's assistant Atlee. She is active in Tollywood also with hotshot projects.
Deepika Padukone is juggling dates
Deepika Padukone, Rajini's Kochadaiyaan heroine has been advised to get some rest by her doctors as she was suffering from sheer exhaustion because of her extremely demanding schedule. The actress is currently resting at her home in Bangalore but she is worried that this period of enforced rest and relaxation might wreck her jam - packed schedule.
Now that Deepika has wrapped up work on Kochadaiyaan, she was planning to get started on her Sanjay Leela Bhansali film, Ayan Mukherji's film with Ranbir Kapoor and SRK's Chennai Express. SRK wants to finish work on Chennai Express before the Champions League so that he can cheer for his team, the Kolkata Knight Riders. Deepika may be resting now but she is still hard at work trying to figure out a way to squeeze in all her projects.
Jism 2 love-making scenes reduced by half
Sunny Leone won't be making out as passionately with Randeep Hooda and Arunoday Singh as the director Pooja Bhatt wanted them to in Jism 2. A very reliable source from the censor board tells us that all the love-making scenes featuring the irrepressible Sunny Leone in passionate contact with her two co-stars Randeep Hooda and Arunoday Singh have been reduced by half.Says the source, "There are four major love-making scenes in Jism 2, three featuring Leone with Randeep Hooda and one with Arunoday Singh. Each of these was 2-3 minutes long .We asked Pooja Bhatt to reduce them to 1- 1 ½ minutes each."
Apparently, Pooja Bhatt agreed to comply with the cuts rather than go with the film to the Revising Committee.
Says our source from the Censor Board Of Film Certification, "Pooja did argue. But she had clearly come to us with lengthy love-making scenes. We've nothing against characters making love on screen as long as they get their mutual feeling across without over-staying their welcome. We collectively felt the 4 love-making scenes in Jism 2 were over-staying their welcome. Once the mutual passion between the two partners was establishment there was no need to prolong the erotic content."
The last time the love-making scenes were reduced was in Vivek Agnihotri's Hate Story.
Says the source from the CBFC, "In the other film too, once the point was put across, the love-making was unnecessarily prolonged. We frequently get the feeling that filmmakers come to us with deliberately enhanced erotic or abuse content in the hope that we'd cut some and leave the rest. In the case ofJoker the makers had come to us with a song that went 'I Want Fakht You'. Their argument that fakht is the Marathi for 'only' made no grammatical sense in the song. We naturally asked for a change. Surprisingly the Joker team had an alternative ready. So obviously they had anticipated censor trouble and a standby was ready."
