SOUNDARYA Gets Top Bollywood Team
For RAJINI
Soundarya Ashwin is going all out to make sure that Rajinikanth's Kochadaiyaan turns out perfectly in every department. The film is being shot using the revolutionary performance capture technology (PCT) Rajini is supposedly playing a Pandya King famous for his courage and valor. Deepika Padukone, Jackie Shroff, Aadhi, Shobana, Sarath Kumar will be part of the cast.
The latest information on the film has been provided by Soundarya on twitter, "Thrilled and honored to work with the stereoscopic team of Avengers, Thor, Titanic 3d, Avatar to name a few, STEREO D for Kochadaiyaan". The film's satellite rights have been sold for a record sum to Jaya TV. Kochadaiyaan will be releasing later this year and the audio launch is expected to happen in September.
VIJAY'S Surprise Visit
Vijay and Prabhu Deva became good friends after working in films like Pokkiri and Villu and continue to hang out. In fact, Vijay even shook a leg for Prabhu Deva's film Rowdy Rathore with Akshay Kumar. Currently, Vijay is working in Thuppaki and Prabhu Deva has started work on his next Hindi film with Shruti Haasan and Girish.
Prabhu Deva was delighted when Vijay dropped in to visit him at his new house in Mumbai on sunday evening. The two buddies had a great time catching up with each other. We hope they are planning to work together on a film again. It will be a delightful treat for the fans.
KOCHADAIYAAN on the List Of
SUPER HERO'S
Rajini's upcoming Kochadaiyaan is making a lot of news as the release date is nearing. Dr J Murali Manohar, Director of Media One Global Entertainment Ltd. whose company is co-producing the movie along with Eros Entertainment had a lot of interesting things to share about the Superstar's latest movie.
All international gaming companies have approached the makers for creating games based on the movie. Not only that, they are also looking to launch comics based on the movie, making it the first Tamil movie spawning comic books. The best comic book companies in India are inquiring.
It must be noted that DC Comics and Marvel Comics are legendary comic brands in the US which have inspired major superhero movies like Batman, Spiderman and Superman. Now Kochadaiyaan comics will be another addition in this illustrious list.
Earlier, they had also tied up with Karbonn mobiles for launching special edition Kochadaiyaan mobile phones. In addition to all this, the team is also making sure that piracy and content security are taken care of.
MADHAVAN Replacing AJITH
Behindwoods had broken an exclusive news on Ajith doing a cameo in Sridevi's English Vinglish.
But there were few reports in the press about Ajith not doing the cameo in this film. It was rumored that Madhavan will be replacing Ajith for his role. Madhavan has emphatically denied this on Twitter saying that the above information is "NOT TRUE".
English Vinglish has been directed by Gauri Shinde and will be premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film is creating a lot of hype and fans are dying to see Sridevi back on the silver screen, she ruled for so many years.
ASIN'S FOURTH TON
Asin, the alluring actress from Kochi, is enjoying her rocking career in B-town. Her Bol Bachchan has crossed the 100 crore mark. This is her fourth film after Ghajini, Ready and Housefull 2 that has reached the 100 crore club. The actress now shares the top spot with Kareena Kapoor, who also has four films that features in the club- 3 Idiots, Golmaal 3, Bodyguard and RA One.
Asin has expressed her joy over the film’s performance, but also added that she doesn’t care about the figures. She says she is very happy that it has happened to her film. Perfect choices of films have made her what she is today. We wish the beautiful actress a good luck for her future endeavours.
MAATRAN Is Mastered
The audio launch date of Maatraan has been fixed for August 9th in Singapore, which happens to be a public holiday there. Sony Music had earlier acquired the audio rights for a huge sum.
The mastering and mixing of this Harris Jeyaraj musical was done in the US. The final master has been delivered to Sony Music and there are 5 songs which are expected to rock. The director-actor-music director trio has delivered chartbusters and that only ups the expectations even more.

VIKRAM'S TRAILOR Released tomorrowThe much awaited trailer of Vikram's Thaandavam will be launched in Chennai tomorrow (July 31). The film, produced by UTV Motion Pictures, is one of the most awaited flicks in Kollywood this year. This action entertainer has Vikram, Amy Jackson, Lakshmi Rai, Anushka (as doctor), Santhanam (as an illegal immigrant) and Jagapati Babu (as the villain) in prominent roles.
Written and directed by Vijay, the film has music by G.V. Prakash Kumar and cinematography by Nirav Shah. Now the latest is that the film is likely to hit screens in September 2012.
AMALA MAKE'S A ComeBackAmala is going to act after a gap of 20 years. She had acted in numerous Tamil films including Mythili Ennai Kathali, Mella Thirandhathu Kadhavu, Velaikaran and Sathya. She loved Telugu actor Nagarjuna and married him. After marriage she quit acting.
Their son Akhil is also going to son the lead role in a film. Amala was also the founder of Blue Cross Society in Hyderabad. She was away from cinema for 20 years. Now she has taken acting in a film titled Life is Beautiful directed by Sekhar Kammula
VEENA'S NEXT
Actor Parthiban is donning the role of Veena Malik’s friend in the Kannada remake of the Hindi film The Dirty Picture. The Hindi film The Dirty Picture is based on the life of the late South Indian glamour queen Silk Smitha.

DIANA PENTY FOR VENTAT PRABHU'S NEXT
After the stupendous success of Mankatha which had Ajith in the lead role, Venkat Prabhu is directing a film titled Biryani. There is news that Diana Penty who had acted in the recent super hit Hindi film Cocktail is acting in this film.
Karthi is donning the lead role while Richa is pairing with him. This is a suspense thriller film. There are two heroines in this film as per the story. Earlier Samantha or Ileana was considered for the second heroine role but that did not materialize. MANIVANNAN IS BACK
Actor/director Manivannan, who has till now directed 49 films, is all set to direct his 50th. The ace director will be making a sequel to his super hit Amaidhi Padai that starred, Sathya Raj, Ranjitha, Kasturi, Sujatha, SS Chandran and R Sunderrajan.
Manivannan’s favourite actor, Sathyaraj will again do the lead role in the film. The duo has for now titled the film Amaidhi Padai part 2. But the director has hinted that the title might undergo a change. Manivannan has also disclosed that the script has got enough humour to hold the audience.
THE ACTION BEGINS
If industry buzz is to be believed, 'Vishwaroopam' will release in the second half of August. Expectations are huge as the movie is written and directed by Kamal Haasan and comes after 'Manmadhan Ambu' (2010), which got a lukewarm response. The actor has said that 'Vishwaroopam' is based "on something that has been in my mind for seven years. I hope it stays in my audience's mind for at least half that time."
Though Kamal Haasan has not announced when his movie will hit the screens, Tamil film's first caped crusader has already fixed his date with destiny. 'Mugamoodi' is all set to begin his fight against crime from August 31 and maverick director Mysskin looks set for another hit with this martial arts-packed entertainer. The movie has actor Jiiva (who enjoyed unprecedented success with last year's money-spinner 'Ko'), model Pooja Hegde and Narain in the lead roles.
'Mugamoodi' will be followed two weeks later by 'Thaandavam', again from the UTV stable. Director Vijay and actor Vikram will be looking forward to recreating their 'Deiva Thirumagal' success, though their latest project is in a different genre, with Vikram playing a cop. With last year's mega flop 'Rajapattai' still fresh in the minds of the audiences, the national-award-winning actor will be looking to prove a point with this racy thriller.
Karthi, who is fast rising in Kollywood's star hierarchy with a series of hits - the latest being 'Saguni', which was released last month, and last year's 'Siruthai' - will be trying his luck again with 'Alex Pandian', which is directed by Suraj and has Santhanam and Anushka in major roles, in October. But it is in November that a clash is expected with 'Thuppakki' and 'Maattrraan' said to be eyeing the Diwali slot. If this happens, it will be a repeat of Diwali 2011 when Vijay's 'Velayutham' and Suriya's '7 Aum Arivu' battled for eyeballs. 'Thuppakki' has a lot going for it - Vijay is on a roll with a series of hits behind him, including 'Nanban' earlier this year, and it is also the first time he is working with director A R Murugadoss, whose last release incidentally was '7 Aum Arivu'.
'Maattrraan' is the second collaboration of Suriya and director K V Anand after their successful 'Ayan' in 2009. The promo, released recently, created a lot of excitement after it was revealed that Suriya plays conjoined twins, but AGS Entertainment, the studio behind the movie, has not set a release date. "A song and some computer graphic work remain to be completed. The audio release is planned in August," says R Rangarajan, chief financial officer, AGS Entertainment. But all eyes are on the badshah of the global box office, Rajinikanth, who is set to lord over the world in his new avatar as 'Kochadaiyaan'. The movie, made using the revolutionary performance capture technology, has many big names attached to it like actors Sarath Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Jackie Shroff and Nasser, music composer A R Rahman and cinematographer Rajeev Menon, and is widely expected to release on the superstar's birthday, December 12.
Adding to the clamour of releases will be 'superstar' directors like Ameer, Bala and Gautham Menon, who command a fan following of their own. Menon said that 'Neethaane En Ponvasantham' would release on October 19, but refused to classify his movie as a "biggie". Fans, though, think otherwise, and are waiting for what he and composer Illayaraaja are going to come up with. No date has yet been set for 'Aadhi Bhagavan' (Ameer) and 'Paradesi' (Bala), though they are in their final stages of production. The industry is not complaining. With 'Billa-2' said to have had a bigger opening than last year's blockbuster 'Mankatha', the hope in Kollywood is that the good tidings will continue with the new offerings.
DEEPIKA says no to Shankar Flim
Bollywood News: Mumbai, Speaking to media persons in Mumbai, Deepika Padukone, the actress, who is making her Kollywood debut with Superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming film 'Kochadaiyaan', said, "I got a Google alert about it, but they are all rumors. I am not doing Shankar's film."

TRISHA says no to Sanjay Dutt
Director K S Ravikumar, who's all set to direct Sanjay Dutt in the remake of the Kollywood hit Saamy, wanted Trisha to reprise her role from the original. Trisha had to decline the offer owing to her busy schedule.
Trisha, who debuted in 2010 in Bollywoodwith the lacklustre Khatta Meetha, has since not acted in another Hindi film. Saamy, which released in 2003, was one of Trisha's biggest hits and starred Chiyaan Vikram as her hero.
When contacted, Trisha said, "Yes, I was approached for the film. But I am shooting three Tamil films back to back, which require me to travel extensively as well. I had to decline because I couldn't accommodate anything new for the same reason. The Hindi film required me to allocate continuous dates from August."
Eventually, the role has landed in the lap of Prachi Desai, who will play Sanjay's heroine in the film.
LAARA DUTTA Shoots her second flim
She was last seen on Kollywood screens in the Arjun-starrer Arasatchi in 2004. And now, actress Lara Dutta is all set to maker her presence felt here in Shaitaan director Bejoy Nambiar's David.The director had earlier told CT, "Lara will be seen in all the three versions — Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. She will start shooting for her portions from July in Mumbai."
And now, as we can tell you, the actress has indeed started filming for her scenes. She will be sharing screen space with Jiiva in this flick.
Lara wrote on her micro-blogging page, "Off to shoot for Bejoy Nambiar's David. Being shot in Hindi and Tamil simultaneously! I get to work with both my actors Vinay and Jiiva. Unique experience of shooting in two languages!"
The film also has Vikram and Nasser playing leads in it.

Celebs At Str'S bash For Dhanush
Currently, the talk of tinseltown is the surprise birthday party, STR threw for his buddy, Dhanush. He went all out to make it a memorable occassion for Dhanush. A special Aadukalam cake featuring a rooster was the piece de resistance in honor of Dhanush's National Award win for the film. Celebs at this super bash included Tamannah, Amala Paul, Premgi Amaren, Sarathkumar, Narain, Jai, Santhanam, Vetri Maaran, Anirudh, Radikaa Sarathkumar and Aishwarya Dhanush.
Dhanush was deeply touched and tweeted, "and i thank Simbu for throwing such a nice party. it was a surprise party and i had a nice time." Veterans Sarathkumar and Radikaa wished the birthday boy and commended the two young stars for their friendship despite being professional rivals as it sets a good example on sportsmanship.
SURYA with PRIYAMANI
Conjoined twins have suddenly become the hottest theme in the South Indian film fratenity. Suriya's Maatran teaser created a huge impact and fans are keenly anticipating the film's release. THE SUPER COOL OPENING
The sequel to Kyaa Kool Hain Hum, Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum opened yesterday to mixed reviews from the critics but, overwhelmingly positive response from the target audience, the youth. The first day has netted a very healthy 6.5 crores which is the 8th biggest Bollywood opening day in 2012.
This figure is much much higher than all previous Ritesh Deshmukh and Tusshar Kapoor opening days. This sex comedy can be expected to be a safe bet already, thanks to the huge opening and the glowing applause from the youth. The weekend can be expected to reach minimum 20 crores net.
THAMANNAH FOLLOWS KATRINA,AISH,PRIYANKA
Following the likes of other beauty queens such as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif, Tamannah might become the latest brand ambassador for Lux. This soap brand is known for roping in the most popular actresses andTamannah is the darling of the South. This makes her a smart choice.
Tamannah is naturally excited and is waiting for the deal to be firmed up. It must be remembered that Kajal Aggarwal and Asin were recently signed up by Lux but their commercial wasn't a solo ad. ButTamannah's would be a solo ad.

VINAY'S MIRRATAL SHOT
Director Madesh who had big releases in Vijay’s ‘Madura’ and Vijaykanth’s Arasangam, has a new project rolling. Produced by Metronet Multimedia Private Limited, his fresh project ‘Mirattal’ hasVinay Rai and Deepika in lead roles. The unit completed filming some expensive sequences, in England recently.
Mirattal’s cast and crew went on a tour of the European nation, shooting at the London Airport, East London, the Buckingham Palace, Oxford University Aerodrome and even at the Tower Bridge. Though there were no hassles getting permissions, the challenge lay with cinematographer Kannan, who had to capture the scenes exactly as sketched out by his director. For one of the action scenes, where heroine Deepika gets kidnapped, special cameras had to be brought in, to capture the shots in an engaging manner. Music for the film is by Pravin Mani. The movie is a remake of Telugu film Dhee, featuring Vishnu and Genelia as the romantic duo. The official date of release for ‘Mirattal’ will be announced soon.
THAMANNA SAYS THAT SHE IS BUSY IN TELUGU
When asked Thamanna whether she was not interested in Tamil cinema she gave her reply. Thamanna for the last one year did not accept any Tamil cinema. She was concentrating only in Telugu and Hindi languages.When asked her that why she is not accepting Tamil cinema, she said, "Currently I am very busy in Telugu films. All of them are excellent films. As far as Tamil is concerned I am getting lots of offers. If it has a good story I listen to them but I will accept if the role is suitable for me. I am very interested to allot dates for Tamil films.Tamil films were the turning points in my career. Only Tamil films gave me an identity. Who said that I am not interested in Tamil films? I am really missing Kollywood industry. Even now I am in touch with all the Kollywood heroes with whom I have paired with. I keep on talking to them frequently. When I am in Chennai I feel at home. Next I am acting in a Hindi film. The shooting of this film is to commence soon."

SAMANTHA QUIT TO ACTING
Actress Samantha is suffering from skin allergy. She is staying in Hyderabad and getting treated but the result is negative.
She is at her home because her face has lost its radiance. She had acted in the film Naan Ee which was made in Tamil and Telugu.
This film which was released recently is running to packed houses. Tamil film industry stalwarts Manirathnam and Shankar had approached Samantha for the female lead role in their respective films.
